- A safety support class for people with hearing loss, including free equipment to alert you in case of a fire
- A subsidized driver safety class that can save you money on your auto insurance premiums
- Hospital and auto visor kits, so deaf and hard of hearing people can communicate with police, medical and emergency workers
- Cochlear Implant support group
- Registration subsidies for audiology students to attend the HLAA national convention
- At the national level, HLAA has fought for and won:

        - Testing of infants at birth for hearing loss

        - Hearing aid compatibility for cell phones

        - Assistance and financial aid for U.S. soldiers who lost their hearing in battle

        - Captioning of videos, movies, and other electronic devices

For more than 15 years, we have been one of 20+ national walks that, to date, has raised awareness and nearly $10 million for important programs and services benefiting people with hearing loss. May is National Hearing Month, and our walk has been officially recognized as “Walk for Hearing Day.”  Thanks to the support of National sponsors, local sponsors, teams, walkers and volunteers, we are able to help fund a variety of important local, state and national services. Join hundreds of walkers from throughout the metropolitan area on this important day.
